Puâ??u Oâ??o
Puâ??u Oâ??o
Description: Hawaiâ??i Volcanoes National Park is possibly one of the most intriguing National Parks (in its own way). Other parks, like Yellowstone, have Volcanic or Geothermal activity, but the sheer fact you watch the lava oozing out forming new land as it goes is fascinating. Kilauea is the worldâ??s most active volcano. Once thought to be part of the Mauna Loa Volcano, it is now known to be a separate unique volcano. All the current activity on Kilauea is at the Puâ??u Oâ??o Vent. Lava flows from Puâ??u Oâ??o Vent into the ocean. this photo was taken at approximately 6:53 p.m. from a distance of about 2 miles. The red glow of molten lava can be seen as it flows into the ocean creating tall plumes of steam.
