Description: During the spring in Horseshoe Canyon, the baby catepillars are being born on every cottonwood tree or other shrubbery. They sound like rain falling down as they hit the ground and start to spin a cocoon for themselves. Lizards and birds were having a feast.

We have something like these in Pennsylvania. They call them gypsy moth caterpillars and they can wipe out a lot of trees. -- memmieo
