The wall of water hit the hillside in front of you
The wall of water hit the hillside in front of you
Description: I decided to put the following pictures on line. The pictures here tell the story, of the great flood on May 31, 1889. Was it the weather, all that heavy rain or was it a faulty dam that caused 20 million tons of water to crash into the city of Johnstown 12 miles down stream. The wall of water whe it hit Johnstown had a force equal to Niagara Falls.

Really sad the mill now closed, the river is trashed, and there is fog in your picture. -- jodimiller
