Stone bridge has been hit by 3 major floods
Stone bridge has been hit by 3 major floods
Description: I decided to put the following pictures on line. The pictures here tell the story, of the great flood on May 31, 1889. Was it the weather, all that heavy rain or was it a faulty dam that caused 20 million tons of water to crash into the city of Johnstown 12 miles down stream. The wall of water whe it hit Johnstown had a force equal to Niagara Falls.

If you sit in front of the red light coming from the West End at midnight on May 31st, especially if it is raining, you can hear the water rushing ... hear the people screaming ... and dogs barking ... Try it ... I did ... and I heard it ... -- BeckyMarie
