Its not a river ? -- uniq_photo
Well compared to the Ohio or the Mississippi lets call it a baby river. But for those of us who live along the banks of the conemaugh, when we receive close to 10 inches of rain in a 24 hour period then all hell breaks loose. The water will come over these walls and flood everything in the valley. I think the rivers were high due to flash flooding of around 3 to 5 inches on this day. -- johnstownwildfire

It looks to be more of a flood control channel. Whatever way you look at it, that is ALOT of fast water! -- EQOTR
