Do people ski right on that mountain that we are looking at? Does snow stay on this mountain all year long? How high are these mountains? It looks like houses are right up next to this mountain, you wonder is the snow ever rolls down on them? All we are thinking now is give us sleds, can you just see that 35 children on sleds making their way down the mountain. -- penns woods weather team
Mount Nebo, not in this shot, it's to the right by mayb 100 miles is 11,928 feet high. That is the highest point of this range. Behind the Wasatch is much more rugged and taller. Those are houses right up on the foothills! Snow doesn't stay there all year, the last mountain to loose it's snow would be Mount Olympus. Imagine going up between these mountains and just around the back side and that's where the skier's go. I would like to see all 35 of you on sleds, how fun! -- wasatchfront weather team
Thise are foothills, wow -- mikewilson
I would love to shoot this hill -- flowersforsara
We have had so much snow the past couple of weeks that it is complete unstable and the avalanche warnings are out for the entire range. The ski resorts try to keep it safe with the control blasts and ski patrol. Last night the news said no backcountry ambling is advised until the snow settles for a while. After enduring about 10 years of drought, this winter is a blessing to us here in the desert. -- wasatchfront weather team
I wonder if a person could walk up the side of this hill? -- missygirl1
Hey Missy give it a go. I think you could walk up that hill. It looks no bigger than the ones we have in PA. -- sunray
