Post card picture with the wordings Come to the Sunshine state to live forever, and a lot of people do just for this alone. -- mikemoyer
Romantic hey Jodi I think this is the best place on earth for a 1st date. I only hope the sand here is clean, I hope there is sand. Mr. King key is this wher you fell in love with your mrs. If not I tell you any couple under this setting above, would make them fal in love. -- amandasnowflake
Hey snowflake it close but how long doe it last, what happens when the sun sets then the magic is gone, ahhh shoot I left myself open on this one sorry, but those allowed would take it to the next level, we children who want to wait till we get married, we do what. I know one thing I see why all those who love that old music head south, the sunsets drive them into this romantic mood and after years of no romance, think about it most of them were raising kids, who has time for romance. -- jodimiller
As I was saying, This is why all grandparents, like how I worded that huh, head to FL. They can find the love, every night on the beaches of FL. -- jodimiller
This photo is without equal. I want a print of this framed for my living room wall. So serene...Simply amazing. Excellent job! -- laelaz
That sunset is absolutely beautiful!!! -- racefan74
Thank you all for your kind comments. I love taking sunset shots, and fortunately I get many opportunities down here. And to answer your question, amandasnowflake, I am not married. I keep looking for `Miss Right` but keep finding `Miss Always Right` instead. -- KingKey
Lets really look at this to see it before us it look so peaceful, yet you cant look into her beauty for thou can go blind, you cant stand upon her suface, she is our sun a very harsh gasious globe of fire and death, yet we look at her now and she is a thing of life for all. Really folks its hot, hey kingkey dude, tell us please is this a beach your standing on or just pavement. -- jodimiller
Tell us how you make this magic, settings, camera, filters, sweat we waish to know, give up George -- karentoth
I giver a 5 all the way -- fayeweathergirl
The Penns woods weather team has voted, this is the next post card for the sunshine sate. You hsould video tape your sunsets and share them. -- missygirl1
Your picture speaks to everyone. God proclaimed to his people go forth and spread the good news. In a way your sunset, gives mankind hope, maybe we can all pray as a family evey day, maybe we can learn to love again, maybe we can have hope that our country will once again be God fearing and free of so many problem. We have children starving on the streets of America, whats up with this, but your sunset gives us hope. Maybe tommorrow it will all change for the better -- davidmario
Thank you for sharing the light. Your picture was just listed on the paranormal site and the people are atlking about the many spirits within this event. Ok ghost are awaken by the sun as it sets they say. How come I dont see any I only see asmall orb, orbs of light are often seen but ghost hunters on tv say that most of them a dust particles -- summersmarie
Well I was actually standing on a dock, but it was next to a sandy beach. Does that count? Unfortunately I hate to burst your bubble, but it`s a man-made beach. Here in the Keys, since all of the islands are coral rock, we don`t have very many natural sandy beaches. Many locations have sand shipped in and make their own beaches. Better than nothing, though! And as for how I make the pictures, no tricks or filters whatsoever. Just a Kodak point-and-shoot Z7590, and my computer to resize and send. -- KingKey
Now back to my new found friend KingKey, I have a teacher we know, who is single and loves the weather, more so boating and water sports. And she is moving to FL , I want her to take me with her. She is going to be teaching at Florida State University. Anyway sorry this is note a dating service, but it could be. Hey plug for R Factor, check out his tornado pictur -- jodimiller
The reason I ask you see a lot of tornados huh, so you could tell us what it is. Anyway your picture, it stirs my young heart, you have any young sons sy about 15. Anyway your picture is really good. Have to go mother checking up on me. Love the picture, oh please tell me this is a beach. -- jodimiller
Ok Ill take it, too bad you have no snow. OMG that would be to die for about 2 feet of snow layin next to the one you love and that sunset. See women get it I dont no if guys get it. Kingkey do you get it. Hey you should start a weather team down your way. You have kids right, or you know kids. -- jodimiller
Yes, it would appear that there are people rating photos here that have some very unusual ideas about what`s good and what`s not. It has been discouraging to see excellent photos being torn down for no apparent reason. If not for some heartfelt comments from people like you, I probably would have stopped the whole AccuWeather thing completely. I decided against stopping, at least for now, because I have a faithful group of viewers who simply enjoy my photos! -- KingKey
...and sure... I will take a look at R Factor`s tornado picture and see what I can see. And yes, the picture is taken from a beach. Unfortunately, it`s a man-made beach, rather than a natural one, but a beach nonetheless! -- KingKey
I`m convinced that when Everyone starts rating that these issues will work themselves out. In the next newsletter, I`ll remind people to rate. -- weathermatrix
Hey Kingkey did you get any pictures of shuttle landing or flyover. They say lots of folks could see it. Beach of any kind I love ,,, Hey we have snow and cold blowing snow.. I am so happy. Seven springs here I come. -- jodimiller
Hey we hear that R Factor last time he went sking, had a tree jump out in front of him. Do you guys ever get snow in FL. -- jodimiller
We`re quite a distance from where the shuttle launches and/or lands, so no, I haven`t. I`d love to, though! And sure, parts of Florida can get snow, but I`ve never seen snow in the Keys. The coldest temperature that I`ve encountered down here has been 39 degrees Fahrenheit... and that was 18 years ago. -- KingKey
Sounds like you dont really care if it snows eh. Jodi is nuts, I want the heat, full blown bake me alive heat. YOur picture looks like a painting -- kellykind
They said ov TV that people from all over Fl and states to your weat could see it as it flew in. I just looked at amap Fl is like a really long state. I just never thought about it before. One could travel the distance of Fl and go through all four seasons. But it seems that the keys has a lot of beauty. -- cindythunder
5 from me, this picture is great -- cindytoth
True, kellykind... I don`t WANT it to snow! I hate to be cold! And yes, cindythunder... when I drive to other areas of the country it takes me at least eight hours just to get out of Florida! It`s a long state! And I definitely agree with you: The Keys really are beautiful. That`s one of the reasons why I decided to stay! -- KingKey
Share for the pleasure, not for the ratings. I keep coming back to see your work. Thank you -- jessejo
Thanks for that, jessejo! -- KingKey
Hey its a 5 to me. See I love no clouds blue sky peace you know. You should put this picture in your contest as well. I used to see sunsets like this all the time out west. I really miss it, maybe thi is why you chase storms, you get to see the sunsets as well. The smell after a good rain storm, you cant beat it. -- natasha
Luckily for me, I get to see sunsets like this when I am at home! Of course, I see some real beauties when I`m in the Central Plains as well. Whatever Mother Nature serves up, it`s all beautiful in its own way. -- KingKey
wow nice shot!!! -- macky26
Please keep uploading your pictures, as they are absolutely stunning. I enjoy this site a great deal,in part, because of what you have seen through the lense and your kindness to share. THANK YOU................ -- CColor
Thanks, macky26! And CColor, I am humbled by your comments, and I truly appreciate them. In other words, thank -YOU- for helping put things in their proper perspective! -- KingKey
Are these low level or medium level clouds -- mindyweather
We have just added this picture to our list for cloud homework. I Think this is you basic low level stratocumulus pileus -- kingcobra
Mindy they are next to the water right, I would say low level -- easterbunny
After debate here list is our list Medium level clouds with some vertically development altostratus praecipitatio or radiatus or some think altocumulus floccus -- South Fork Weather Team
We are going to leave the window open for one more week. Children get it together, come on, Jesse will provide the answers next Friday. Mindy why do you think low level? The question you have to ask yourself is what is low level? Could their be a combination of levels here? South Fork Team, where do you see vertically development? -- johnstownwildfire
Because I am a meteorologist I have been asked to say what kind of clouds we have here. Note that it's almost impossible to determine cloud types based only on one photo, mainly because heights can not be determined. The interpretation of the cloud is somewhat up to the viewer and arguments can be made for which kind of cloud it is, especially when more than one cloud is in the picture, which is often true. The line between one type of cloud and another is very questionable. One of the best cloud atlases is at http://tinyurl.com/ywzz26 unfortunately it is translated from German so it can be hard to read. -- weathermatrix
That said, my opinion is that the cloud in the foreground is some type of cumulus, probably congestus, which are common in Florida because the heat rising from the ocean creates this type of convective cloud. It doesn't look mottled like Altocumulus or Stratocumulus and not flat like Altostratus, though I could see an argument for the lower cloud in the background being Altostratus opacus. -- weathermatrix
Note also that there is an expanded panoramic version of this photo here: http://tinyurl.com/2wvcyv showing more cumulus to the right -- weathermatrix
Mr. Wethermatrix as a parent I want to say thank you for all you do. Thanks to Accuweather our children have the chance to learn about the weather, not just this is a cloud or this is a thunderstorm, but what weather really is. -- cindythunder
Hey KingKey, you mentioned 39 degrees 18 years ago, that was my first trip to Key West with my ladyfriend and we never got warm till we got back to Orlando to fly out back to kentucky the following week and it got up to 70 degrees, I'm coming down to Key Largo to stay in February, I'll look for some fool with a camera ! -- Kentucky_MOI
So you know just how cold it was! I`ll tell ya, that was BRUTALLY cold!!! As for February, yeah... just look for the idiot that`s probably going blind from looking at too many sunsets through a camera lens. I can`t stop though! -- KingKey
lost words! Listen to the silence. -- nvalkov
I just came across this site today and I am in awe of this picture. I think I've just fallen in love with you. I want this for my living room wall. -- angeldame
Awesome, simply awesome. Makes you momentarily forget about the troubles in the world. -- scott4tnee
just lovely -- magnumlady
Jodimiller, let me answer your question with a question: Have you gotten any good pictures of planes landing in Trenton, NJ? That`s roughly the equivalent distance from your home town as my home is from the Kennedy Space Center. Even if I did see it, all I would see would be an itty bitty little dot! Perhaps I will make the trip sometime, though! -- KingKey
Your photo is breathtaking! Gives me hope for summer sunny days as I bask in this snow-covered northeastern Oregon winter wonderland right now! -- Grandecrow
Wow what about night flights? You should be able to see thm taking off at night. I had no idea how far away you were, I was thinking maybe 50 miles or so. -- jodimiller
Kingkey Sir I again want to say that I hope your picture wins the big prize. I have been telling student nationwide to vote for you. You should also enter this one, it rocks. I also want you all to pray for snow... Lots of snow. Have you ever seen it snow where you are, I bet you really want to see it snow huh? The very thought of making a snowball, the feel of ice particles working their way though your fingers. Standing out side on a clear cold night you can see forever. -- jodimiller
Yes, if the conditions are just right --- and if you can get on top of a building to see over any trees that are in the way --- I am told that you can sometimes see a dot in the sky from here when the shuttle takes off at night. I have tried to do this on three occasions, but was not fortunate enough to see anything... until I came back in to see the replay on TV. -- KingKey
nice lots of comments -- polska17
